Again, it has been awhile since I posted a blog. I know, I need to be better at it. But, you know the pregnant brain makes you very forgetful. We spent a wonderful Christmas in Oklahoma with our family and friends. We also each received a cold (thanks Mom and Dad!) and mine ended up turning into a sinus infection which is always fun. We sent Wiley and fat Jack back early with all our loot and Maggie and I flew back to much warmer weather on Jan. 7th. Maggie turned back from beast to princess the minute we got to the aiport. While I love going home, our lovely daughter usually turns into Cybil when visiting the grandparents. Could be the trips home are too long or could be that she gets basically NO discipline and completely spoiled when she is with her grandparents. But, she only gets to see family a few times a year so Wiley and I go into it knowing we will eventually get our sweet baby back.
We just enjoyed a fast and furious weekend trip to Atlanta. I love Atlanta and I can't believe we haven't been more. We used to go when we were initially here in Pensacola for flight training but haven't been since we moved back. We use the kid and Wiley's schedule as our excuse now for our lack of travel. So, we took Maggie to the Georgia Aquarium, which was wonderful. In Maggie speak it is referred to as "the big fish tank." The next day, we hit IKEA for stuff for the girls rooms (bookshelf, dressers). Now, all I have to do is get the baby's room ready, which is kind of depressing to me!
I am soooo ready to have my body back to normal. This pregnancy has not been fun (and you people who enjoy being pregnant ought to be shot!). On top of the sickness, biliary colic, normal aches and pains, I just found out I have gestational diabetes. So, I get to prick my finger and test my blood 4 times a day. More than anything, it is a pain to have to remember to do it. But, it is going well as the baby is healthy and apparently, very happy as she kicks like a soccer player and can nearly bring me to my knees (please God, let this one be my tomboy!).
My biggest depressor right now is the sheer amount of crap that we think we need to raise a baby! Paige Caroline's (her name for those of you who don't know) closet is jam packed full of storage totes leftover from Maggie. I have so many baby clothes to wash, gear and toys to sterilize, you name it. I know this is fun with your first child but I guess it changes for subsequent children. All I know is, I am ready for March AND Paige to get here!
Now for the pics:
